Now, they have introduced a new driver-assist technology that will change the way you experience driving. It is called the ActiveGlide and will be introduced on future Lincoln vehicles as they plan to shift to an all-electric lineup by 2030.
WHAT IS LINCOLN ACTIVEGLIDE?
Lincoln ActiveGlide is an innovative advanced driving assistance system that allows and supports hands-free driving throughout North America. It is functional across prequalified sections of divided highways called Hands-Free Blue Zones that make up over 200,000 km of North American roads. Messages and a blue light indicator on specified vehicles will appear on the digital instrument cluster to indicate when the vehicle is in a hands-free zone.
HOW DOES LINCOLN ACTIVEGLIDE WORK?
ActiveGlide is activated by the driver when in the specified zones. Once certain conditions are met, the system will take complete control of the vehicle. To ensure focus even during the authentic hands-free driving experience, a driver-facing camera will continuously monitor the driver for attentiveness to ensure their eyes are always on the road, just in case.
ActiveGlide uses a combination of advanced camera, radar, and driver monitoring techniques as well as a specified mapping system. Built upon available intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane-centering systems as well as speed sign technology, ActiveGlide can completely control the vehicle while still following road rules and regulations.
